This will be a relative short article so no big mugs of coffee needed.
Note: For simplicity I will call the Cloud Manager now CM and Enterprise Manager, EM. 😉
After you have deployed both the Cloud Manager (Destination VC) and Enterprise Manager (Source VC) and configured the certs and vCenter integration and created the role mapping, login to the Enterprise Manager.
Click New Site Pairing
Click Register New Connection
Enter the URL of the Destination CM and click Register
You can see the request sits at Pending. It seems depending on the environment, it becomes available straight away or sits at Pending seemingly indefinitely. In fact, I have yet to see a setup where Finish becomes available.
Simply click Cancel (trust me on this).
You can see the Site Pairing is now online
And That’s it. As mentioned, this is a short one.
One last note – as you can see I am logging into the HCX appliance directly. As of a release from May / June this year the stand-alone client was introduced.
You can also use the vCenter Plugin that is being installed as part of the vCenter connection.
The interface is essentially identical
In the next article I will be talking about Service Meshes.
